DPR has successfully migrated leading mutual society, The Cambridge Building Society, to its latest cloud hosted mortgages and savings software platform.
What was involved?
The major change was facilitated by award-winning technology supplier DPR, part of DPR Group, who provide origination and servicing for mortgages, savings and loans.
The Cambridge took the strategic decision to migrate from traditional private data centres to a more flexible option using Microsoft’s Azure cloud. This positions them as a technology leader amongst banks and building societies and will allow them to continuously adopt further cloud innovations as they become available.
The scale of the migration placed a heavy emphasis on compliance, DPR were able to provide a solution to suit the needs of The Cambridge and support with the rigor and guidelines surrounding this type of task.
DPR were able to deliver the enhanced infrastructure to The Cambridge in just 4 months, requiring strong governance and rigorous testing.
What are the benefits?
The use of the DPR cloud computing service has strengthened the robustness of The Cambridge’s infrastructure, improving resilience, reducing potential downtime, increasing security, and providing better disaster recovery/business continuity (DRBC) capability.
Azure will also provide The Cambridge with increased flexibility, allowing its infrastructure to seamlessly scale, supporting both peaks and troughs in demand as well as long-term business growth.
DPR are an approved Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), allowing for greater control of the end-to-end journey, improving both lead time and cost management for their customers.
Trevor Tannenbaum, Head of IT & Change at The Cambridge commented:
“The plan was executed perfectly, and all key milestones delivered on time. Now we are live on Azure we are starting to see the benefits – the capabilities now available for operational resilience are key for the Society.
The flexibility it offers will enable us to manage growth and reduce our overnight processes to allow customers full access to their accounts throughout the day.”
Neil Locke, Head of Cloud Implementations at DPR said:
“This was a major project and we are delighted with how well it was executed and with minimal disruption – it’s a massive testament to the DPR team and their cloud first strategy.
Cloud hosting is completely revolutionising the way businesses operate and cloud platforms like Azure, should be the foundation of any successful IT infrastructure plan.
We have continued to develop during these unprecedented times, and we look forward to helping more businesses realise their objectives through cloud hosting.”
